What small business websites actually do
We scan public business websites from the outside, the way a customer meets them, and publish the totals. No business is named. Each page states how many sites we checked and when.
How many US gyms and yoga studios let you book a class online?
25 of the 56 US fitness studio websites we scanned (45%) give a visitor a way to book. 16 of those embed a real booking system; the other 9 have a booking button or link, but no booking system we could recognise behind it.
Which booking software do UK gyms and yoga studios use?
18 of the 55 UK fitness studio websites we scanned (33%) embed a booking system we could identify. Wix Bookings is the most common booking system among them, on 6 of the 18 sites with one.
Do Dutch gyms and yoga studios answer on chat or WhatsApp?
11 of the 56 Dutch fitness studio websites we scanned (20%) offer a chat widget or a WhatsApp link. That is a higher share than in the UK, where 6 of 55 do.
Can you book a US plumber, electrician or roofer online?
27 of the 54 US trade websites we scanned (50%) have a way to book or schedule a job from the site. 7 connect that to a field-service or scheduling system; the other 20 have a request or schedule button with no scheduling system we could recognise behind it.
How can customers contact UK plumbers and electricians through their website?
40 of the 50 UK trade websites we scanned (80%) have a contact or quote form, and 38 publish an email address. 5 offer neither, so the customer has to phone.
Can you make an appointment with a Dutch installer online?
4 of the 26 Dutch installer websites we scanned (15%) have a button or link to plan an appointment. None use a dedicated booking system. Most work through a contact form instead: 20 of the 26 have one.
How many US vet clinics let you book an appointment online?
39 of the 55 US vet clinic websites we scanned (71%) let a pet owner book or request an appointment online. 11 do it through an online booking system we could identify.
UK vets lead on online booking systems
16 of the 59 UK vet clinic websites we scanned (27%) embed an online booking system. Vetstoria is the most common booking system among UK clinics, on 11 of the 16 sites with one.
Dutch vets: an appointment button is not the same as online booking
46 of the 56 Dutch vet clinic websites we scanned (82%) invite you to make an appointment. For 38 of them we found no booking system behind the button; only 8 connect it to one.
How often is the contact path on a small business website broken?
19 of the 467 small business websites we scanned (4%) had at least one contact route that cannot work. The most common problem: a button or link that goes nowhere, on 10 sites.
